When my two girls were young, my
husband and I made a point of reading to them every night before bed. Some
nights we were busy, or it was late, and it was so tempting to just skip it one
night. But then it would be even easier to skip it again the next time. Reading
to our girls at bedtime was more than just fostering a love of reading. It was
a commitment we made to them. A moment of our time sacrificed.
My goal with Wondering Willow Books is to produce early learning books that
make that commitment a little easier for parents by creating stories that
engage and encourage using art, technology, and googly eyes to introduce
science in fun and easy-to-read ways. Creating books that introduce science to
toddlers, early readers, and those who read with them, will allow me to inspire
children to read more, therefore learn more.
